Structure

The PALLET is the element that supports all logistics management. The goods carried will only arrive in perfect condition if the pallet is chosen properly, according to their different characteristics.

Some of the most commonly used structures are described below:

BLOCK PALLETS

Generally speaking these pallets are made of 9 blocks but there are also 4- or 6-block (small format) and 12-block (large format) pallets. The block pallets allow the blades of the forklift to enter the four sides of the pallet.

The following types of block pallets can be found:

  • WITH RUNNERS

It is generally made of 9 blocks with the bottom formed by 3 runners (set of three blocks plus a bottom board). It can be handled by all types of lifting equipment (forklift, pallet-jack, stacker). It is the most common and usual structure in most industrial sectors. Of this type of pallets, special mention must be made of the 800 mm x 1200 mm and 1000 mm x 1200 mm sizes.

  • PERIMETER BASE PALLET

It is normally made of 9 blocks, with the bottom part comprising 5 pieces of wood that form a frame. It can be handled by all lifting devices except the stacker. This structure improves stabilisation for reassembly.

STRINGER PALLET

This pallet normally comprises 3 stringers but there also 2-stringer (small format) and 4-stringer (large format) models. In this structure, the blades of a lifting device can only enter the two opposite sides of the pallet.

The following types of stringer pallets can be found:

  • * WITHOUT INNER TIMBER

It is comprised of different wooden boards on the top deck and the corresponding stringers. They can be handled by all types of lifting equipment (forklift, pallet-jack and stacker).

  • SEMI-REVERSIBLE

If is comprised of different boards on the top deck, the corresponding stringers and three boards on the lower deck. It can be handled by forklifts and pallet-jacks. Good stability for reassembly.

  • REVERSIBLE OR DOUBLE-SIDED

It is comprised of different boards on the top deck, the corresponding stringers and the same boards on the lower deck. Either deck can be used for loading. It can only be handled by a forklift. Maximum stability for reassembly.
